SERVICES

Immigration Related Services

In addition to Canadian immigration applications and legal representation, we assist clients with a range of immigration-related matters that often arise before, during, or after the immigration process. These services can be important for individuals, families, workers, students, permanent residents, and Canadian citizens who need help dealing with government agencies, identification documents, benefits, or licensing issues. We provide practical guidance and assistance with the following services.

Access to Information and Privacy (“ATIP”) Requests

ATIP requests allow individuals to request records from Canadian government departments and agencies, including Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, Employment and Social Development Canada / Service Canada, and other federal institutions.  These requests can be useful for obtaining immigration records, officer notes, application histories, enforcement records, or other government-held information. We assist clients with preparing and submitting ATIP requests and reviewing the records received.

Passport Applications

We assist clients with Canadian passport-related matters, including guidance on passport applications, renewals, supporting documents, and issues that may arise during the application process. A valid passport is often essential for travel, identity confirmation, immigration processes, and family mobility. We help clients understand the requirements and prepare their applications as carefully as possible.

Social Insurance Numbers and Cards

A Social Insurance Number, or SIN, is required to work in Canada and access many government programs and services. Newcomers, temporary residents, permanent residents, and Canadian citizens may need assistance applying for a SIN or updating their SIN record.  We assist clients with understanding eligibility, preparing the required documents, and addressing issues related to SIN applications or updates.

Health Benefits Applications

Provincial health coverage is an important part of settling in Canada. In British Columbia, this includes enrolment in the Medical Services Plan, commonly known as MSP.  We assist clients with health benefits applications, including understanding eligibility, preparing documentation, and addressing questions that may arise when applying for provincial health coverage.

Driver’s License Matters

Moving to Canada or changing immigration status can affect driver’s license requirements. In British Columbia, clients may need to deal with ICBC regarding foreign license recognition, testing requirements, identification documents, or licensing timelines.  We assist clients with understanding driver’s license-related requirements and preparing for interactions with licensing authorities.

Practical Support for Immigration-Related Issues

Immigration matters often involve more than submitting an application to IRCC. Clients may also need records, identity documents, government benefits, employment documentation, or provincial services to move forward with their lives in Canada.  Our guidance provides clear, practical assistance with these related matters so clients can better understand their options, prepare properly, and avoid unnecessary delays.
