Emre Kurultay Canadian Immigration Lawyer
Emre is a dedicated lawyer who immigrated to Canada from Türkiye and spent his entire early adulthood in Vancouver. Upon graduation from the University of British Columbia in 2020 with a BA Honours in History with International Relations, Emre received the J. H. Stewart Reid Gold Medal and Prize in Honours History, reflecting his academic excellence and dedication to his studies.
Emre went on to obtain his Juris Doctor degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2023. His academic journey in law school was marked by numerous accolades, including the prestigious Alexander J. Cohen Memorial Award for his demonstrated excellence in fundamental research that explores law in its social context. He also received the Hon. Thomas A. Dohm, QC Prize in Immigration Law, highlighting his commitment to excellence and his passion for immigration law.
Upon joining Slayen Immigration Law as an associate lawyer in 2024, Emre brought with him a wealth of experience garnered as a research assistant for various faculty members at the University of British Columbia. His role as a research assistant honed his skills in legal research and writing, equipping him with the tools necessary to navigate the complex landscape of law.

Lilla Tora Immigration Case Manager
My name is Lilla Tora, and I have been Dean’s legal assistant and right hand for the past 4 years. I am lucky to call both Manitoba and British Columbia home, splitting my time between the two provinces.
I believe in quality work, always seeking to fully understand the issues we are dealing with. I take pride in catching details that often prove to be important. With valuable suggestions I provide Dean with an extra set of eyes while perfecting client files and our submissions. The main reason we are such a great team is because we complement each other while working towards the same goal of helping clients efficiently.
I have expertise in preparing and filing a wide range of applications, from visitor visas to criminal rehabilitations. I am however the most passionate about working on family sponsorship applications and assisting Dean with appeals, preparing Application Records and drafting submissions. We have had significant success with family sponsorships, sponsorship appeals and applications based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. In my 4 years with Dean, we have had a 100% approval rate on sponsorship applications and sponsorship appeals.
In my free time, I enjoy dog training, walking, working out at the gym, and road trips. I travel as much as possible, exploring new places near and far.
